¿Conoces la importancia del pistón?

The truth is that there are many parts that perform a vital operation for your motorcycle to function, advance and carry out any type of task, where the pistons end up being the moving elements that are located inside the engine in order to be a light and resistant component that at the same time withstands the pressure, as well as the heat that develops inside the combustion chambers.

When the motorcycle is started, an electrical impulse is sent to the starter motor, which turns the crankshaft and, as it turns, causes the pistons to move up and down to compress the air-fuel mixture, which, aided by the spark provided by the spark plug, creates an explosion that pushes the piston back in to begin another operating cycle.

The piston moves up and down inside the cylinder, compressing the mixture, transmitting the combustion pressure to the crankshaft through the connecting rod and forcing the gases resulting from combustion out towards the exhaust, producing a vacuum in the cylinder that draws in the mixture.

The compression rings or rings found in the cylinder head serve to prevent gases from escaping through the slack area between the piston and the cylinder walls.

The oil ring performs the function of scraping excess lubricant from the cylinder walls, which flows back to the oil pan.

Beneath the cylinder head is the connecting rod arm, which connects to the pistons through a hole housing the bearings, bolts, and piston cap. The connecting rod is responsible for transmitting the force received by the piston to the crankshaft and is subjected to compression and tension forces.
